The Town of Greenfield recently promoted Cara Parks from Principal Account Clerk to Director of Fiscal Management. Parks, who joined Greenfield’s staff in 2021, oversees accounts receivable and payable, payroll, trend analysis, loan transactions, investments along with many of the Town’s human resources functions. She also serves as the Budget Officer for the Town and advises the board on developments affecting the Town’s fiscal outlook.
“It is a constant battle to recruit and retain great employees,” said Town Supervisor Kevin Veitch. “The responsibilities have long surpassed the role of Principal Account Clerk and we think this new title is a better fit.”
Veitch said Parks has been involved with many key projects in recent years such as the new employee handbook, installation of timeclocks, installation of new accounting software, new health insurance offerings, ARPA fund management, and the contract for the Town to establish its first-ever locally-based ambulance service.
Parks is a resident of Burnt Hills, a mother of four and a member of the AGA a national association for finance-related government professionals. She has a degree in economics from Russell Sage College in Troy, N.Y. and has thirty years of experience including municipal positions at the Town of Charlton and the Town of Galway.
